Welcome to the Dutton Park Parish
The Dutton Park Parish, run under the Capuchin Franciscan Friars, lovingly cares for the communities of:
- St Francis of Assisi in West End,
- St Ita’s in Dutton Park and
- Our Lady of Perpetual Succour in Fairfield.
Please visit the individual church pages to learn more about each church. In addition Our Churches we also care for the St Francis’ of Assisi Hall. This hall is located behind the St Francis of Assisi Church on Dornoch Terrace.
St Francis Hall
The St Francis of Assisi Hall was formerly the St Francis of Assisi Primary School and has, since the closure of the School served very successfully as a Community Hall as well as acting as the Meeting and Food Room for the St Vincent de Paul West End Conference. It also houses the Catholic Academy which has also been operating there for many years.
It has also hosted many Wedding Receptions, Funeral Wake functions, Birthday Celebrations, Concerts and other social activities. It is currently rented out to a number of organisations who come there for Choir practice, community enhancement groups, card collector groups and in recent year has also hosted a social group designed to help Asylum Seekers break the monotony of life in the local Detention. It also is a poling booth venue for Federal, State and Local Government elections. There are two separate rooms within the Hall building these are:
St Francis’ Meeting Room
Seats up to 20 people and is carpeted and air conditioned.
It is available for casual hire at $20.00 per hour.
Full use of kitchen facilities.
St Francis’ Main Hall
Seats up to 100 people at tables or 200 people for a cocktail style function.
Has a full Kitchen Area (and internal toilet).
Has a Veranda Area which is useful with functions.
It is available for hire for $35.00 per hour.
A refundable cleaning bond of $200 is required.
